LATT participates at EBSCOHOST’s Open Days

The Library Association of Trinidad & Tobago (LATT) recently participated in two (2) Open Days hosted by EBSCOHOST at the National Library Building (NLB) on Monday 18th March, 2019 and at the Hyatt Regency on Tuesday 19th March, 2019.

At the Open Day held at the NLB, the LATT Executive distributed registration forms and promotional material, to encourage participants who were not members, to join the Association. At Tuesday’s Open Day, a short presentation was made on the current work of the Association as well as to demonstrate the Association’s support of EBSCO.

At the Open Day held at the University of Technology in Jamaica on Thursday 21st March, 2019, Assistant Secretary, Allison Providence-Lange, who currently holds the position of Account Executive, Caribbean with EBSCO, was able to engage in conversation with Mr. Nicholas Graham, President, Library Association of Jamaica (LIAJA) about future partnerships between both Associations. She was also able to speak with Mr. David Drysdale, Library Director at the University of Technology, Jamaica, about the work of the Association and future collaborations.

One of the fundamental reasons the LATT has given its support to EBSCO’s services and products, results from EBSCO’s ability to provide the necessary resources to help information professionals serve the needs of its clientele. In T&T’s current financial climate where library funding has been considerably reduced, EBSCO’s support is even more evident. The relationship with the Association, its membership and EBSCO has always been a robust one; with EBSCO participating in and partially sponsoring some of LATT’s Annual and Ordinary General Meetings.
