In keeping with our outreach initiatives, the Library Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT) met with residents of Arima at the Trinidad and Tobago Group of Professional Associations’ (TTGPA) 6th Annual Professional Services Day, held at the Arima New Government Primary School on Saturday 8th April, 2017. Representing LATT were Vice-President Beverly Williams, Public Relations Officer Lyndon Jackson and Liaison Officers Ayaana Alleyne-Cumberbatch and Beverley Adams-Baptiste. Some of the special invitees to stop by at the LATT booth included Her Worship the Mayor of Arima Lisa Roxanne Morris-Julian, Member of Parliament for D'Abadie/O'Meara Brig. Gen. Ancil Antoine, Councillor for Tumpuna Brennon Patterson and Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation Paul Leacock. Apart from informing visitors about the Association and the profession of librarianship, the LATT team also promoted the services of the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS), particularly that of the Arima Public Library.
The LATT Executive Board wishes to thank the TTGPA for affording us the opportunity to be part of their 6th Annual Professional Services Day to promote library services and share with visitors and members of the Arima community some insights about our Association and librarianship.
